GOOD DAY STUDIOS

STUDIO SPACE

EVENT SPACE

FOSTERING CREATIVITY & COMMUNITY

Good Day Studios was the original vision & although its first home at 1040 H Street in Arcata is not large enough to support the project’s full scope, it is the perfect place to get started.

We always had the idea that Good Day Shop would be the public face of the larger business. As opening a retail store was a much more surmountable goal than starting up the whole grand endeavor, Good Day Shop was born in 2024, & the first iteration of Good Day Studios finally joined the world in late February of 2026.

As of early March, we still have space for three more Resident Artists to join our little creative cohort, for the experimental spring season of Good Day Studios through May 31st. After, we will decide as a cohort how we’d like to proceed, based on our experience.

Rent for a Resident Artist is $250 a month with a $100 security deposit. In return, Resident Artists have 24/7 access to the space, which includes their dedicated 6’ x 6’ studio space, a full kitchen, a full bathroom, & a comfortable, colorful lounge area.

Interested in joining us for the spring season?

Email us at hello@gooddayhumboldt.com with the subject line “Good Day Studios” if you’re interested in checking out our space to see if it might be a good fit to support your creative practice & help you grow more community!

Why create at Good Day Studios?

As creatives ourselves, we understand that doing the work of artists can at times be lonely, and difficult to make happen without having a space to work—which is why Good Day Studios has come into being!

A few reasons why being part of the spring season of Good Day Studios may be right for you:

  • You simply need a place to go tackle your creative work that gets you out of the house, allowing you to see other humans, and providing a bit more structure to your schedule

  • You lack a spot to be able to do your work without interruption from those you live with and/or all the nagging chores that you really could be doing instead of your art

  • You want to be part of the start of a bigger vision to create a comprehensive multidisciplinary arts hub for our community here in Humboldt County

  • You are working on a budget and want to try out the studio space experience without a huge financial and time commitment

  • You need a spot to go work at random times of the day—like you create best at 1 a.m. but your honey needs absolute quiet and darkness during that time, or maybe you love to get out of the house to work first thing in the morning but nowhere is open for you to do so

  • You don’t need a ton of space to do your work, but you are sick of having to take out and put away your materials every time you want to work on a new piece because your work space is also doubling as your kitchen table—and thus you haven’t touched your work in months

  • You’ve been seeking connection with other creative beings in a meaningful way and the random event here and there isn’t cutting it

If any of these reasons resonate with you, we want to hear from you!

If you are interested in exploring if Good Day Studios can support your creative practice as a resident artist, please reach out to hello@gooddayhumboldt.com with the subject line “Good Day Studios”!
